Part I

The three Abrahamic religions of the Middle East - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - are from the same spiritual root, and their fundamental message is founded on the oneness of God.

The words and the teachings of the Prophets such as Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad (peace be upon them all) are in accordance with one another. They all guide souls to the cognition of God and to the ultimate level of divine unity. There are no differences within the original doctrines of the different religions. The differences exist in the later interpretations of people. There is only one God, the Creator. It is a misunderstanding between the different social religions through history that has caused the problems that the world is facing today.

Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Angha, the Sufi Master of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi, (School of Islamic Sufism)®, in the book Sufism, A Bridge Between Religions, states:

“The foundation of all 'religions' is the same principle and that is the principle of unity. The Prophets came with the good news, that there is a God, they have directly received his message, and each individual has a capability to know him. If there is only one Reality, one God, there can be only one Religion... Therefore, this means that religion, then, must be a singular term, for there is only one Reality, the inner Truth, and all the Prophets, Buddha, Moses, Jesus, Mohammad, led us towards this Reality, toward true freedom.”1

The Holy Qur'an states:

وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ

Religion is a Reality (51:6)

The unity of religion is clearly stated in the Holy Qur'an:

شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّى بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
وَعِيسَى أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَن
يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ

The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined   on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than God, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. God chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him). (42:13)
